National Steering Committee

As a way of ensuring high-level support and commitment, the respective institution Chief Executive Officers, were involved in nomination of representative members. The roles of the National Steering Committee include:

  • Identify Stakeholders for involvement in sharing PGRFA information
  • Set objectives and priorities for NISM in conjunction with Stakeholders
  • Promote collaboration and partnership among participating stakeholders
  • Identify constraints on PGRFA conservation and use in Zambia and recommend solutions
  • Define standards and conduct data quality control for PGRFA information sharing
  • Undertake sensitization/awareness creation and publicity activities
  • Develop sustainability strategies for NISM and ensure resources mobilization
  • Prepare work plans and budgets for NISM activities
